“My husband starts going to the gym for a week, drops seven pounds and STILL eats dessert every...single...night. I hate him for that. How unfair.”
I know it is. I cannot lie to you and tell you that a female’s fat loss is going to be as quick as their male counterpart's will be, because it won't be. It's not sexist, it's science.
Women have curvy hips & men have chiseled jaw lines. Testosterone, the hormone primarily responsible for fat loss and muscle building, is much much higher in a male compared to a female. Females do have a small amount of testosterone, but compared to the amount found in a male, it is like comparing a grapefruit to a grape.
Big pipes and mini pipes. Females can absolutely gain muscle and burn fat, so do not get discouraged ladies! But naturally, men do have more muscle mass than women. The more muscle one has, the more fat and calories that person will burn throughout the day. When is the last time you saw a superhero cartoon with small muscles? And when did Snow White ever have bulging biceps and a barrel chest? Women are not built as large as men, and that is OK. We can still have super toned & tight body parts, but in a smaller size, of course.
We’re still in this together. This is not to discourage women, but rather to encourage you that no matter what your gender, body type, or age, you can see a significant change in your body! A car has no use sitting in a garage. Put that thing in drive; get that body moving! The quickest way to see results is to train with full body movements that incorporate high intensity training. If you are doing the same old cardio and weight training routine, add in quick bursts of burpees, full body squats, sprints, pullups & pushups! You will look and feel better!
To get something you never had, you have to do something you have never done. Get to it ladies… gentlemen…
